Chester County’s Arctic Explorers

Samuel Entrikin

Ah, The Romance of Travel and Adventure

The Appeal of Arctic exploration

Samuel Entrikin, who journeyed in the Kite and saved the trunk, is shown here dressed for Arctic exploration.   How did this 30-year old printer from West Chester end up on an Arctic exploration with Admiral Peary in 1892?

Entrikin had always liked to explore, having trekked and later written about his treks into the mountainous regions of South Carolina.
